CARSTAR Newmarket Donates Over 400 lbs of Food to the Newmarket Food Pantry
CARSTAR Newmarket donated 416 lbs of food to the Newmarket Food Pantry. The CARSTAR Newmarket team donated and collected food from their community to make a difference for those in need this holiday season.
“We can’t thank our community enough for stepping up and supporting this year’s food drive,” said Romena Deokinandan, co-owner of CARSTAR Newmarket. “Our team is passionate about giving back to our Newmarket community. It was incredible to see the dedication from each of our employees in this initiative, and we look forward to continuing to help our neighbourhood for years to come.”
The Newmarket Food Pantry was founded in 1988 when local churches came together to coordinate efforts and consolidate resources to support Newmarket families in need. In the beginning, the Newmarket Food Pantry was averaging 25 visits a week, but with the changes in the economy and the increased population in Newmarket, the food pantry is now seeing an average of 400 visits per month, helping over 1,000 people.
“We know this time of year can be challenging for some, and our team is passionate about helping those in need,” continued Deokinandan. “It was a rewarding experience, and we are grateful to everyone who supported this cause and helped give to the Newmarket Food Pantry!”
