CARSTAR Homecoming at 110th Grey Cup Festival Sponsorship

All the Grey Cup Festival activities throughout the week led up to the main event: the 110th Grey Cup where the Montreal Alouettes won over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 28-24. For CARSTAR, this weekend was special as the network was able to support the milestone moment in the hometown where the brand was born. Made even more special, second-generation owners from the first two Canadian CARSTAR locations, Domenic Lucarelli Jr and Joe Saputo, were in attendance throughout the weekend.

“This opportunity was a full circle moment for our Canadian CARSTAR business especially as we head into 2024 which marks 30 years of CARSTAR in Canada,” said Michael Macaluso, EVP and Group President, PC&G, Driven Brands. “Being able to support such a large event taking place in the Hamilton community meant a lot to our network. We cannot thank our franchisees enough for their nearly 30 years of service and dedication to their communities across Canada. The future is bright for CARSTAR family, and we were excited to celebrate it this weekend!”

The weekend opened with the exciting CARSTAR activation at the 2023 Grey Cup Festival Fan Central on James St. Hamilton. Attendees had the chance to receive a diving pass and put their athletic skills to the test. To make the activation even more memorable, current team members and alumni of the Hamilton Tiger Cats stopped by to greet and play alongside fans.

On Friday, CARSTAR sponsored the annual CFL Alumni Associations Legends Luncheon where CARSTAR owners had the chance to meet and mingle with iconic CFL alumni. It also provided attendees with the opportunity to participate in both a silent and live auction, with proceeds going to the CFL Alumni Support Fund.

Saturday’s programming featured the annual Santa Parade where CARSTAR owners and their families rode the float with CFL alumni and the coveted Grey Cup itself. The streets were lined with eager Hamiltonians excited to catch a glimpse of their favourite player and favourite repairer.
