CARSTAR MGM Auto Group Raising Money for Ukrainian Refugee Support

CARSTAR MGM Auto Group, owners of CARSTAR Mississauga 401, CARSTAR Georgetown and CARSTAR Milton, launched a campaign to raise valuable funds and awareness for those affected by the conflict in the Ukraine.

Owners of CARSTAR MGM Auto Group, Kapi Komera and Mike Cherneta, are deeply invested in supporting this cause as Cherneta was born and raised in the Ukraine. The team launched a GoFundMe, with proceeds going to the All Slavic Full Gospel Church in Hamilton, Ontario.

“Our collision repair community is filled with extremely generous individuals, who always support each other through every obstacle we face,” says Mike Cherneta, co-owner, CARSTAR MGM Auto Group. “While this is a deeply personal cause for me and my family, I know others can understand the gravity of the situation and hope we can unite the collision repair community to support the Ukraine in its time of need.”

The All Slavic Full Gospel Church is organizing assistance for refugees within Ukraine or refugees that we’re able to flee abroad. The Church will be working directly with the local churches and families to assist with food, medical support, shelter and transportation needs.

“We have already received support from our immediate team, with over $2,000 raised to date,” continues Cherneta. “Our goal is to reach $45,000 in funds raised, so that Ukrainians in need can receive the vital support required to get through this tumultuous time.”

Cherneta grew up in the collision repair industry as his dad was a technician and got him into the field. Starting as a detailer, Cherneta’s drive propelled him to work his way up through the ranks taking on various roles before becoming an owner. In 2020, alongside tenured collision repair expert, Kapi Komera, the duo became the owners of CARSTAR Mississauga 401, CARSTAR Georgetown and CARSTAR Milton.
